Teaching internship

 

Under the new CIAMB Regulations, the teaching internship became mandatory for all students of the Program, Master’s and Doctorate, regardless of being the recipient of a grant:

 

Art. 34 The Graduation students at the UFG must fulfill the Teaching Internship with the goal of exercising teaching.

Single paragraph. The Teaching Internship is regulated in the Graduation Program in Environmental Sciences through its Resolution 03, compliant to the valid rules at the UFG and following CAPES’ guidelines.”

CIAM Coordination has not yet updated the Internal Resolution, which will be published as soon as approved. However, the Coordination informs that:



  • The teaching internship has become mandatory for all* students from the Program, Master’s and Doctorate, regardless of being the recipient of a grant, and it will not be considered a complementary activity, and therefore will not be worth integralized credits in the history;

  • Until CIAMB’s Internal Resolution is approved and published, students and teachers must observe RESOLUTION – CEPEC 1210, which regulates the Teaching Internship in Undergraduation for “Stricto Sensu” Graduation Students at the UFG;

  • According to RESOLUTION – CEPEC 1210, “Art. 2nd, § 4º The higher education teacher, able to prove such activities, will be dismissed from the Teaching Internship.” In that case, the student must deliver a document at the secretary informing they will not be doing the Teaching Internship, and justifying, that document must be signed by the student and the advisor, and will go to deferment at a CPG meeting;

  • How the internship will be carried out must be arranged between the student and their advisor (RESOLUTION CEPEC 1210, Art. 7th The activities of the Teaching Internship in a classroom shall be developed under the responsibility and effective accompaniment of the advisor or the teacher responsible by the discipline). At the end of the internship, the student must deliver at the CIAMB secretary the Internship Form with the necessary signatures, for the record. Attention: that report must be delivered by the student in no more than 60 days prior to their defense;

  • The student’s workload must be, at least, thirty (30) hours for Master’s students and sixty (60) hours for Doctorate students.
